There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

The ac crashed on Combe Hill, Bratton, Wiltshire. Fw Deininger bailed safely, while his crewmates were all killed. Remaining crew (buried CC, Blk 7, Row 2): Obsv Oblt Heinz Pöhner (born 23/09/1915 in Beerwalde (CK); Gr 33); Radop Fw Kurt Ott (born 19/07/1918 in Deutsch Eylau (CK); Gr 32); Radop 2 Fw Otto Hertzberg (born 20/03/1914 in Moren (CK), Gr 34) and Mech Fw Karl Engels (born 01/09/1913 in Cologne-Nippes (CK), Gr 31). Deininger was WIA on 23 December, 1940 after his ac sustained damage in combat with a Beaufighter of No 604 Sq., piloted by F/Lt John Cunningham. He was able to return to France, but was injured in the crash landing. The ac had been attacked over the sea off Dorset, wounding the remaining unnamed crew.

WIA 28 July, 1944; shot down with wounds, aerial combat with American fighters 20km W of Bucharest, crashed west of Titu Romania. While hospitalized in Bucharest, he was taken prisoner 30 August, 1944. His first known Soviet victory, an I-153 on 15 January, 1942. Two MiG-3s on 13 May, 1942. In the Italian theater, a known victory, a P-40 over southern Italy, 28 August, 1943. His 26th victory, a 99th BG B-17, "Bumb's Rush", piloted by Lt Otis S. Lee, at Pavone del Mella, east of Cremona Italy, 6 October, 1943 per Jason McHenry, grandson of crewman, S/Sgt Harry Cunningham. His 27th, a B-17 25 km south of Insel Garglio Italy, 14 October, 1943. His 28th, a B-17 over Romania on 15 April, 1944. Two B-24s 10 km S of Bucharest on 21 April, 1944. A B-17 on 24 April, 1944. His 30th, a P-38 S of Titü, in the Balkans, on 10 June, 1944 OKL numbering must be incorrect here). His 31st & 32nd, both B-24s in the Buschuk Bulgaria area on 11 June, 1944. His 33rd, a B-24 (HSS) at Liegeplatz: Mizil-Rum on 22 July, 1944. His 34th, a B-24 over the Balkans on 28 July, 1944. Alternate spelling: Schmidt (OKL B-24 victories 21 April, 1944).
