There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Fighter Operational Clasp in Gold
Opposed the 6 March, 1944 Raid on Berlin, the raid R. Kracker was shot down during. Very experienced pilot with 100+ missions. 10 bombers. On 5 March, 1942, he is reported to have downed a PRU Spitfire "AA-810. His 3rd victory, a B-17 on 21 May, 1943 over Wilhelmshaven. His 2nd victim, a B-17, came on 17 April, 1943, and another, unconfirmed on 14 May, 1943. A double victory, his 5th & 6th, both B-24s NW of Helgoland on 4 October, 1943. His 10th, a P-47 on 22 December, 1943. His 15th, a P-47 in the Qackenbrück area on 6 March, 1944. Shortly after he saved the life of H. Knoke, on 6 March, 1944, he was shot down near Quakenbrück by a P-47 of 78FG, piloted by Lt Walter Tonkin. Badly wounded in the left forearm, he bailed successfully, and later returned to action. His 16th victory, an La-5 in the Küstrin area on 15 February, 1945. His 17th, a Yak-9 in the Küstrin area on 21 March, 1945. His 20th, a Pe-2 on 16 April, 1945. His 21st, a Yak-9 on 18 April, 1945. His 22nd, a Yak-9 on 20 April, 1945. His 23rd, a Yak-9 on 24 April, 1945. His 24th, and last victory, a Yak-9 on 25 April, 1945. Flugbuch (8/40 to 4/45). See note re: Wk # 3520 on "Johnen" record. On 3/6/42 he made an Emer landing on frozen Lake Nesbyen, low fuel. OKL spelling = Wennekers; alternates: Wenneker and Wenneckers.

His effort failed. He is known to have participated in the bombing of the London Docks in September, 1940. On 9 September, 1940, he became POW, having served as Observer for Hptm Han Gerd Gollnisch (POW) (LOCS).

After being transferred to Night Fighters, on his first mission, he and his crew had to bail out due to an engine fire. All three crew were injured. His R/O was Gerd Lutz and Flight mechanic was Uffz Hans Angersbach. Boiten, 1 victory.

The body of Ahrendholz was recovered from the sea four miles off the river Tyne on 20 September, 1942, and was buried in Preston Cemetery, North Shields. In the 1960s, it was re-buried in the German War Cemetery at Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, Block 3, Gr 285.

Remaining Strobel crew: Uffz Walter Fock; Ogefr Georg Arnold and Uffz Ewald Oetken. 447 combat missions, 313on eastern front, and 68 last over four hours, thus counted as doubles, total 515 missions. He was the first Flt Engr to receive the RK (C.König).

The entire crew perished. Remaining crew (KIC): Uffz Hans Georg Suckow (geb 09/07/1920, Gumbinnen), R/O and Uffz Erwin Willi Korn (geb 11/10/1920, Bitigheim), Gunner. His 2nd, a Hawk-75A southwest of Compiegne, 21 May, 1940. His 3rd, a Morane 406 10 km south of Creil, 27 May, 1940. His 4th, a Potez 63 at Gournay on 3 June, 1940. His 5th, a Blenheim Mk IV, possibly of No.82 Sq., location unknown, on 8 September, 1940. His 6th, a Spitfire NW of Dungeness on 20 September, 1940. His 7th, a Hurricane on 13 May, 1941, no location. Remaining Crew: Gefr Klaas Visser (Dutch), Gunner (KilledInAction (KIA) on his birthday, 24/12/21 in Amsterdam); Uffz Walter Trenck, R/O; Hptm Erich Zenker, WIA also a pilot, acting as gunner. Visser is buried in the local cemetery at Marl-Brassert. Shot in the chest by Canadian Ace Flt Lt John Mackie of RAF No. 33 Sq.. He bailed safely, but died of his wounds. On 26 October, 1940, he was injured when he crashed in his Wk# 5277 as a result of aerial combat southwest of Bergen Norway. One known victory, his 1st, a Skua at Trondheim, 11 June, 1940. His 2nd & 3rd, both Skuas at Trondheim, 13 June, 1940. His 4th, a Beaufort SW of Bergen on 26 October, 1940. Several unconfirmed victories. [some confusion over which Wk# SD in 1941]. Added: The three missing victories may be Blenheim Mk IV's of No.254 Sq., all in the Stavanger vicinity, one on 24 June, 1940, and possibly two on 25 June, 1940 (H.Wheeler).

Night Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 7 December, 1944 NW of Münster-Handorf by an RAF Long Range Night Fighter flown by Flt Lt Hedgecoe. Another source suggests the G-4 Werk # as 740078. Augenstein and his R/O, Uffz Günther Steins were killed, and the gunner, Uffz Kurt Schmidt, managed to bale out successfully. WIA 16 June, 1944 during aerial combat at Roubaix Be., with Uffz's Schmidt and Steins, also this incident. One known victory, a Wellington 1 km southeast of Ahlhorn on 1 August, 1942. Five known victories were bombers, including two Lancasters by Zwolle on 23 October, 1943. Another, a Halifax at Emmerich on 15 February, 1944. A Halifax 4 km ESE of Maastricht on 28 April, 1944. Added: The only VDK burial match is for Ofw (promoted?) Steins, War Cem. Münster-Waldfriedhof Lauheide in Field G, Grave 3 (D.Drury).

Another victory, two Wellingtons south of Burg on 1 August - Wellington X9917 was one, 1942. Another Wellington 100 m southwest of Venlo on 12 August, 1942. A Wellington III of RAF No. 101 Sq. near Liege on 24-25 August, 1942. A Halifax II #1216 "PM-Q" near Marquillies, crashing at Rosmeer-Bilzen (Be) on 5 October, 1942 (Surviving RAF Nav, F/Sgt Gordon Mellor & Jozef Simons, Secy Hemology Soc.,Rosmeer). American POW, released in 1946. Autenrieth died 8 June, 1996. Added: Autenrieth joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 and retired as an Oberstleutnant. His 04/08/44 remaining crew: Fw Rudolf Adam (born 21/07/1919 in Schwemlingen), R/O (MIA) and Uffz Georg Helbig (born 29/06/1920 in Steinfeld), Mech (POW) (absa3945). Added: Another source suggests Fw Adam and Uffz Helbig bailed out the night of 20/21 January, 1944, and returned uninjured; Autenrieth bailed, hitting the tailfin and breaking his leg. Autenrieth always flew with Uffz Adam as Radop with whom he teamed up at nighflighter school. (CK)

Hans Baasner joined Flak Regt 2 at Szczecin, 01.10.1936. In 1938/1939, he went on to become a reserve officer in the anti-aircraft artillery regiment in Greifswald. In August 1939, he was appointed to the Department of the flak-teaching regiment in Hamburg. At the beginning of the war, he was transferred to East Frisia as adjutant to the Headlamp (Searchlamp?) Regiment 1. In May 1940, he began his training as an observer at Großenhain. In June 1941, he was deployed to the eastern front. After being promoted to first lieutenant, he was awarded the Knight's Cross on 14.03.1943, after operations in France, England, the Balkans and Russia. From Mid-1943 he received a training at the pilots school A/B 41 in Frankfurt / Oder and at the pilots school (C) 6 in Kolberg. In 1944 he attended the blind flying school in Copenhagen. After being retrained in IV/KG 6 on the Ju 88 and Ju188, he joined Stab/KG-6. On 02.06.1944 to be assigned as an ia (?) officer. On 12.08.1944, he was given command of the III./ KG 6, which was at that time to be a booster in Ahlhorn and flew against the invasion front. On 19.10.1944, the order for the reclassification of KG-6 was ordered and Baasner sent to Breslau-Rosen to train as a fighter pilot. The III/KG-6 was then in Prague-Rusin and was refitted sparingly on the Fw 190. On 31.01.1945, the III group was named " Schwanen Gruppe", the first Me 262 element of the squadron. But the new deliveries of the Me 262 did not come until March 1945. In March / April Baasner left the III. Group, which is now III/KG(J)-6, and took over the leadership of I/KG (J) 54, which was also in Prague-Rusin. At the end of the war, he was captured with the remains of his group in Graz, from which he was released. Baasner flew over 300 reconnaissance missions. The gunners body was recovered, but there is no listing for him in the VDK (D.Drury).

Thompson and P/O L.D. Britain. The AC was hit some 36 times by cannon fire and the starboard engine was set on fire. The AC crashed at Wingland Marsh, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk, before the crew had time to bail. Remaining crew (KilledInAction (KIA)): Uffz Jakob Ried, R/O and Uffz Heinz (Hans) Schulz (geb 10/23/1915), Gunner. Alternate spelling: Baehner.
