There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Our hosting service restricts database searches to a minimum of 4 characters, therefore searching on 3 or less will produce no results even if the name IS in our database. Two Il-2s on 2 August, 1943. Two Il-2s and a LaGG-3 on 3 August, 1943. A LaGG-3, two La-5s and three Il-2s on 4 August, 1943. One known victory, a Wellington T2464 WS-K of RAF No. 6 Sq. on 14/15 October, 1940, piloted by S/L John Hinks, which crashed at Salzwedel, killing the entire crew. A Manchester 15 km southeast of Helmond and a Wellington 10 km N of Meijel, W of Venlo, on 27 March, 1941. A Hampden N of Maastricht the night of 10-11 April, 1941. Two additional victories on 19 August, 1941, both Wellingtons, no location. A popular and gifted pilot, he was KIC 25 March, 1945, in a collision in his D-9 with his wingman, Uffz Hermann Kühn, after take-off for a transfer flight. Kühn was attempting a dramatic exit on a short airstrip at Nordhorn! Shot down in "Yellow 10" w/o injuries on D-Day by naval gunfire. Listed as MIA briefly after this encounter. One known victory, a Spitfire at St Pierre-Capelle on 24 June, 1943. His 2nd, a B-17 SE of Boulogne on 7 January, 1944. His 3rd, a B-24 (HSS) SW of Lüttich, 12 April, 1944. His 4th & 5th, both P-51s within seconds at Bacholt on 17 September, 1944. His 6th, a P-47 near Mönchen-Gladbach on 28 February, 1945. His 7th, a P-47 of 366FG at Wallach, near Wesel on 9 March, 1945. His last two victories were Austers (L-4 or L-5) of the 47th FA, attached to the 5th Armd Div., on 17 March, 1945 in the Düsseldorf area, one piloted by Lt Kenneth Lund (Source: Nephew Richard Tiedeman). Was seen swimmimg toward the shore and reportedly picked up by the Russians after being shelled by Russian shore batteries. An He 111 dropped a dingy on the position where Köppen had ditched, but reported that he was not seen at the time of the drop. One of the future JG-52 "Experten" who would begin his career clearing the skies in the Kharkov area in September of 1941. All victories in Russia. Bowers/Lednicer, 85 victories. Hit by light AA fire in the vicinity of Caen, he crash landed near Epron France, where he bled to death (LOCS). 70 combat missions. Another source claims 14 victories. One known victory, a Sunderland (HSS) on 18 July, 1943. A 2nd, a Wellington (HSS) NW of Cape Ortegal on 26 July, 1943. A 3rd, a Catalina, shared with Lothar Wolff on 1 August, 1943. A 4th, a B-24 II on 2 September, 1943. A 5th, a shared victory with Horstmann and Hommel on 18 September, 1943. A 6th, a Beaufighter on 12 December, 1943. A 7th & 8th, both Mosquitos at Biscay on 11 April, 1944. Added: Remaining crew 9 June, 1944 (WIA): Uffz Wilhelm Dunker, Obs and Uffz Gerhard Zimmermann, R/O. 15	Gerhardt, Dieter	Oblt	8/27/1922	Landweiler	8	2/JG-1	Bf 109 E Werk # 6381 (5/42), Bf 109F-4 "Black 5" (9/42), Bf 109G-1/R2 Werk # 14150 "Black 6" (lost 3/18/43)	EK 1 & 2 at least Fighter Operational Clasp in Bronze	KilledInAction (KIA) 18 March, 1943 over Helgoland; after downing a B-24 of 93BG thought to be "Eager Beaver", and while attacking a B-17, he was brought down by return fire. Prior to takeoff this date, he yelled to his wingman and closest friend, Heinz Knoke, "I want to bag the formation leader today". Gerhardt had bailed successfully and entered his dingy, but died of his mortal wounds, as reported by the ASR craft "Falke". His 1st victory, a Blenheim on 15 October, 1941, no location. A shared victory with Heinz Knoke, a PRU Spitfire AA810 piloted by F/Lt Alistair Gunn off Trondheim on 5 March, 1942. Gunn later became POW and was shot because of his involvement in the Great Escape. He was also credited with another PRU Spitfire piloted by P/O Ken Wright, near Bremen on 17 August, 1942. Another, his 3rd, a B-17 6 km north of Wilhelmshaven on 26 February, 1943. In late February 1943, he came up with the idea of dropping 100 lb. bombs onto the tightly formed American bombers. He and Knoke practiced the technique off Heligoland. His victories may only be 4. Buried Schiffweiler-Landweiler Reden. (Added by Pietrzak Youngs) Born on April 6, 1917 in Zerbst (Saxony), Germany, Gerhard Scheibe began his career in the Luftwaffe in the spring of 1941 when he was assigned to serve as Unteroffizier and Bordfunker in 9/NJG 1 (9th Staffel of the Nachtjagdgeschwader 1). In this unit, Scheibe would serve as radar operator and back-up to Oberleutnant Franz Waldschütz (killed in combat on 16.10.1941) and later as a crew member of Oberleutnant Manfred Meurer (winner of the Oak Leaves). It would be as Bordfunker of the latter and serving in the 3./JJ 1 that Scheibe would become one of the most successful crew-member in the Night Fighter Force, receiving the Gold German Cross on 23.07.1943 and the Luftwaffe Honor Trophy three days later . On December 10, 1943, Oberfeldwebel Gerhard Scheibe became the first Bordfunker of the Nachtjagdwaffe to receive the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, after having participated in 59 night victories. However, six weeks later, on the night of 21/22 January 1944, Scheibe died in combat with Meurer, when the Heinkel He219A-0, code "G9 + BB" collided with a four-engine Lancaster over Magdeburg. (Added by Pietrzak Youngs) Signed cover Luftwaffe signed cover - Peter Paul Breu / Wilhelm Antrup / Peter Broich / Wolfgang Bechtle - No. 42 from the Hans Rossbach series of 80 Major Peter Paul Breu (1915-2001) from Schwabhausen / Thuringia from Kampfgeschwader 3 "Lützow" Peter Paul Breu was born on June 13, 1915 in Schwabhausen near Gotha. Already in 1939 he flew in Poland, over France and England as captain of the 6th Squadron of the combat squadron 3 "Lützow". During the Eastern campaign he took command of the II/KG-3. As such, he destroyed 34 transport trains, bombed recognized enemy positions and recognized an enemy tank breakthrough during a reconnaissance flight in the Kirov area. Breu went on the attack and destroyed no less than 26 tanks. On 02.10.1942 Breu received the Knight's Cross for the three aircraft, which were still shot down by his crew. After the war, Breu established a successful petroleum wholesale business. Peter Paul Breu died on 02.08.2001 in Weingarten near Biberach.
