There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

He was damaged during aerial combat with a Beaufighter of No. 406 Sq., piloted by F/O R.C.Fumerton, who claimed a "damaged" in the vicinity of Newcastle-on-Tyne. Remaining crew: Lt Johann Kujawa, Obs (KIA, bur Köln-Südfriedhof 62B/83); Ofw Ernst Elterlein, R/O (KIA, geb 12/10/1914, Gunzenhausen, body washed ashore 9/22/41, bur Yssel CT/2/28) and Uffz Helmut Alexander, Mech (KIA, geb 8/14/1916, Rothenfels, body washed ashore 9/25/41, bur Yssel CT/2/29). Remaining crew: a Mech named Paule, a Gnr Kurt and an R/O named Heinz (sic). Nord survived the war, passed away in 1970 (Flyvrak Norway). Per the KG-26 Loss List, they suggest the pilot was named Uffz Bernhard Schulte.

Forced to bail from Fw 190A-2 Wk# 2156 during aerial combat on 17 January, 1943, after a mid-air collision with an A-3, Wk# 443 of Hptm Rudolf Busch (killed). Added: this collision took place near Velikiye-Luki, Kalinin Oblast, Russia (D.Drury). So unnerved by the collision, he did not fly operations again. 800+ combat missions. His first victory, a Polish P-23 8 km southwest of Chalupy, 3 September, 1939. His 2nd, a Hurricane northeast of Cambrai, 19 May, 1940. Nos.3 & 4, both Hurricanes, one S of Brentwood, the other NE of Tunbridge Wells on 31 August, 1940. His 5th, a Spitfire at Cranbrook on 7 September, 1940. His 6th, a Blenheim S of Folkestone on 10 October, 1940. His 7th & 8th, a Spitfire and a Hurricane S of Tunbridge Wells on 17 October, 1940. His 9th, a Spitfire 25 km NW of Calais on 6 May, 1941. 69 victories in Russia. His first known Soviet victories, four SB-2s on 22 June, 1944. A Pe-2 on 2 August, 1942. An Il-2 on 16 December, 1942. Not sure when he was in JG-5. His data sheet simply says he was in a Jafu Leader in East Prussia in March, 1944, having been JG-51s longest serving Kommodore. Bowers/Lednicer, 78 victories. He was employed by Mercedes-Benz from 1950 to 1981. Deceased 22 July, 1982 Greenwich CT., USA (P. Bastin).

Added: An alternative source says the cause of the loss was flak, possibly that of the 131st AAA Bn (SGLO/D.Drury). The A-8 is reported to have crashed at Margraten, near Maastricht Holland per Dutch researchers (DeSwart). Injured in a force landing 16 October, 1944 at Hustedt due to engine trouble. Plus 22 Unconfirmed. 2 Bombers in Me 262. 442 combat missions. His first known Soviet victory, two I-15s on 19 July, 1941, while in 1(Erg)/JG-54. One of many multiples, he downed three LaGG-5s and three LaGG-3s on 21 June, 1943. Another, three Yak-1s, four LaGG-3s and three MiG-3s, for a total of 10 victoriesin 4 hours, 22 minutes on 24 June, 1943. "Nowi" crashed "Black 1", Wk# 10360, making a victory pass and running out of fuel. He was unhurt. Scored JG-54s 250th victory in #410004, an A-5, and the 300th victory in an A-8 "White 8" both of I/JG-54. Took command of Kdo Nowotny in September of 1944. On 8 Nov., 1944, while Kdr III/JG-6,after downing a bomber (# 258) in his Me 262A-1a Wk# 110400 "White 8", he suffered engine failure and was attacked over Achmer airfield by Mustangs. His victors are said to be 1/Lt Edw "Buddy" Haydon of 357FG & Capt Ernest "Feeb" Fiebelkorn of 20FG. He was killed in the ensuing crash, at Epe, 2.5 km East of Hesepe. Germanys 5th Leading Ace. EL 9/4/43. S 9/22/43. Also flew a Bf 109F-2 "White 8" in 1/JG-54 in the Summer of 1942. An Fw 190A-4 "Wh 10" and "White 1" in 1/JG-54. Photos, buried Vienna.
