There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

4 Bohnsack, FranzLtSonderkommando BlaichHe-111 H-6He flew the attack against the Free French–controlled Fort Lamy (now N'Djamena) in the Chad region of French Equatorial Africa on 21/01/42. The raid against a target 2,010 km from Axis bases in North Africa was a success but on its return flight the Heinkel ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing of the undamaged He-111 on a high plateau 260 km short of Campo Uno, Bohnsack made an emergency landing. On the 5th day a Caproni Ca.309 landed and delivered water and melons to the Heinkel crew. On the next day a Junkers Ju-52 from Wüstennotstaffel 1 , arrived with more water and fuel. The crew took off for the short journey to Campo Uno, where the Heinkel was refuelled and then the crew flew on. The crew and aircraft were rescued a week later. Served in 3./ NSgr. 11 until its termination due to the German loss of trust in Estonians flying aircraft and possible defection. Made a paratroop course, were later sent to a Flak artillery unit and went into Czech captivity,

Several Danish craft offered assistance, but was refused. Many hours later, their dinghy drifted ashore at Lilleballe, on the eastside of the Island Samso. Initially trained as a bomber observer and assigned to I./KG 153 at Merseburg. Observer with 4./KG 2 in 1939. Flew in Poland campaign, destroying three trains. In France campaign his crew shot down two Morane 406 fighters and took part in low-level strikes. On an early mission over England, 1940-07-11 his Dornier 17 was shot up by Hurricanes near Harwich. Bornschein, radio operator Ofw. Werner Borner and flight engineer Fw. Friedrich Lohrer were all wounded. The bomber’s pilot, Joachim Genzow, who later won the Knight’s Cross, escaped injury. After recovering from his wounds, Bornschein was sent to Flight Training School A/B 3 at Guben, where he trained as a pilot. Promoted to Oberleutnant in November 1940. Late 1941 he returned to 4./KG 2 on Dornier 217 E. Bornschein attacked industrial targets, port facilities and shipping, sinking two merchant ships totaling 9,000 tons. Led 4./KG 2 as Staffelkapitän from June 1942 to February1943. Promoted to Hauptmann. In early 1943 Bornschein assigned to Flight Training School A/B 3 as a company commander. May 1943 he was transferred to the Führer-Kurierstaffel as Staffelkapitän. In April 1944 the unit was based in southern Germany, as nighfighters. On the night of 26-27 April 1944 Bornschein intercepted British bombers attacking Schweinfurt. he shot down a Lancaster III of 106 Sq., ND853 "ZN-J", 15km WSW of Schweinfurt, but was then shot down himself. Bornschein was killed, along with his radio operator Stbfw. Wilhelm Steurer (who had been a member of Bornschein’s crew in KG 2) and flight engineer Fw. Josef Schmitz, hit by return fire from the Lancaster. He shot down at least 3 enemy aircraft.

Ar 232 A-101

The first and only unit fully equipped with Ar 232 was the 7./Erg.TG. (Supplementary transport squadron). Their formation, in Schönwalde near Berlin, was apparently ordered as early as June 1943, probably on the 15th. The first squadron commander, Walter Meltzer (Knights Cross) from III./TG 1, had been appointed, but together with the group commander the l./Erg.TG., Major Kurt Wendorff, in a test flight with the Ar 232 A-03, VD + YC, he was fatally injured in Schönwalde along with Oblt. Helmut Jardon, Offz.z.b.V., Ofw. Albert Klenk, Bordmechaniker, and Uffz. Heinrich Gräf, Bordfunker, all of the 7./Erg.TG. Meltzer's successor was Major Josef Belz. While he and a few other members of the squadron, including Ofw. Max Limbrecht, had already been instructed in the new pattern at the factory, it was not until December 1943 that the A-02 aircraft in Schönwalde could be deployed. That same month, the squadron was relocated to Eger. There it received three more machines in January (A-06, A-09 and B-06) and another two in February 1944. The last two should have been at least one more B, most likely the B-05.

Werner von Schulze-LANGSDORFF (born 27/05/1899 in Forbach/Lorraine), WW1 participant as Lt d. Res.
