There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Remaining crew (KIC): Uffz Heinz Horn, geb 7/18/1922, Observer. The French crash report suggests he survived, but died of his injuries later. However his grave marker displays Feb 4. A 4th person, Fw Heinrich Leopold geb 10/13/1919 is on a grave marker with one of this crew, showing his date of death as 2/10/44 (curiously). All are buried in the Dagneux Cemetery. Among his comrades, they felt he had not been injured in the combat, but may have drowned in the Rheinfischern river. Two known victories, both P-38s (possibly Jim Edmondson) east of Köln-Bonn, 20 October, 1944. A 3rd, a P-47 in the Osnabrück area on 8 November, 1944. A 4th, a P-47 at Spessart on 18 November, 1944. Remaining crew (disp unk): Ogefr Kautz, Uffz Schulz and Uffz Wilhelm (M.Balss). One known victory, a "4 mot" on 13 August, 1944, no location given. Added: The ac crashed at Obermehnen, Dist Minden-Lübbecke. The cause of the crash was bad weather. Remaining crew (all KIC; buried "Unter den Linden",Gütersloh): Ogefr Siegfried Kautz, R/O (geb 17/07/24 Dresden, Gr 73); Uffz Waldemar Schultz, Mech 1 (geb 20/03/20 Hamburg, Gr 71) and Uffz Wilhelm Rudolf, Mech 2 (geb 17/11/22 Greifenberg, Gr 72). Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 4 July, 1944 in "Blue 1"; sd between Bayeux and Caen by a French Spitfire of RAF No.340 Sq., he was a Fhr at the time, serving as wingman for Stfkpt Wilhelm Hofmann. No known grave. He was promoted to Lt posthumously on 1 May, 1944. One known victory, his 1st, a B-17 at Alsbach, near Sankt Ingbert, on 25 February, 1944. His 2nd, a B-24 12km NE of Namur on 12 April, 1944. His 3rd, a B-24 of the 487BG near Orleans on 11 May, 1944. He accidentally rammed this B-24 causing him to lose his propeller, but was able to make a force landing with only minor injuries. His 4th, a Spitfire IXB "DB-E of RCAF No. 411 Sq., piloted by W/O James S. Jeffrey (evaded capture), 10 km E of Lisieux (Orbec) on 2 July, 1944. Alternate spelling: Büsch.

He was credited with rescuing more than 175 persons in distress, includin an EL-Trager, Hptm Fischer??, most likely Hptm Erwin Fischer, a Recon pilot. Flew transport operations after recovering from an illness which caused him to be hospitalized in Germany. Deceased 4 September, 1999. Jager Blatt 1/2005.

(n.d.) retired from the Bundeswehr as a Hptm. †16.11.63 in Würzburg. Here are the last 6 months of the Staffel, which was hard-pressed to keep busy due to the catastrophic fuel situation. Added: he flew 71 combat missions in Spain. He and his crew was lauded in a daily order by General der Flieger Geisler on 29706741 for coming back 4 times with heavily damaged a/c, 2 times only flying with a single engine for several hours, yet bringing back useful recce info and serving outstandingly. His crew mentioned were: Radop Fw Zieslak, Gunr Gefr Groeschel, Obsv Maj von Obernitz and Oblt Augustin (CK)

Entered Luftwaffe in 1933, pilot certificate issued 13 February, 1936 to Uffz Waldemar Habermann. Added: MIA with his entire crew, 19 November, 1941, between Rostov-on-Don, Russia and Millerovo. Remaining crew: Oblt Hans Jasper, Obs; and three with unknown desig, Uffz Erich Behrens, Fw Fritz Reichelt and Uffz Erich Stamm. Ofw Habermann commemorated in the German War Cem at Rossoschka, Russia (D.Drury).

Added: His 1st, a Spitfire 15 km N of Berck-sur-Mer on 3 May, 1943. His 5th, a P-47 3 km S of Werkendam on 30 July, 1943. His 6th, a P-47 3 km N of Guyancourt on 3 September, 1943. His 10th, a B-24 B-24 10 km SE of Albert on 4 February, 1944. On 24 February, 1944, he shot down 2/Lt D.R.Rice, shortly after Rice had downed Uffz Gerhard Loschinski (KilledInAction (KIA)).His 18th victory, a P-47 SW of Reims on 27 April, 1944. His 20th, a P-47 10 km N of Soissons on 8 May, 1944. Hackl successor as Stafkpt 7/JG-26. Followed Hackl to JG-300 on 22 February, 1945. Won the RK in JG-300. Bowers/Lednicer, 36 victories. Survived the war, but was killed 8 January, 1957 in the crash of a training AC near Schongau.

He was believed killed on this mission, as a cross appears behind his name on the OKL Report. Added: There is no VDK burial detail. Having been lost into the English Channel, there is what appears to be a family memorial in Parkfriedhof Meiningen, Germany, naming he and two brothers lost in WWI. His full name is Enzio Heinrich Waldemar Carl Freiherr von Saalfeld (D.Drury).

Oblt Schwarz was killed when his chute failed to fully deploy due to insufficient altitude. His grave, is the only German grave at Fradley St Stephen Churchyard, Staffordshire, Row 1, Grave 2. He was the Navigations Officer for Stab III/KG-4 at the time (D.Drury). Added: After Laying mines in the River Mersey in Liverpool, his ac was attacked by the Beaufighter, and badly damaged on the return flight. The remaining crew were taken prisoner on farmland owned by two brothers, in Lullington (Staffs). The ac exploded on impact, scattering debris over a wide area (John Knifton via Kevin Price 12/2022).

Fighter Operational Clasp		On 2 Sept., 1942, his A-4 was severely damaged in combat with a Spitfire of RAF No. 401 (Canadian) Sq.. Bullet-riddled, on fire, and smoking, his pursuer saw Söffing slumped over and assumed he was dead. The Canadian pilot watched in amazement as the German fighter crossed over the French coast, still in level flight! A minute after the Spitfire turned back, Söffing bailed out, uninjured. His first known Soviet victory, two Il-2s on 16 Feb., 1943. A P-39 on 27 Feb., 1943. An Il-2 on 18 March, 1943. A LaGG-3 on 14 May, 1943. On 28 July, 1943, he was shot down at Dubbeldam in # (15)7375 "White 3" by a P-47, and suffered a broken neck. He returned to combat in 1944. A double victory on 11 May, 1944; both P-47s in the Chateaudun area. His 15th, a P-47 at Lille- Roubaix on 24 May, 1944. A P-38 at Hückelhoven on 16 Sept., 1944. A Spitfire at Arnhem on 25 Sept., 1944. A P-47 at Oberhausen on 4 Oct., 1944. A P-47 at Jülich-Geilenkirchen on 10 Dec., 1944. His 25th, a Tempest near Rheine on 22 Feb., 1945. Near wars end (4/45), he was nominated for the RK, but in those chaotic days, never received confirmation, nor the award. Also spelled Soeffing.

MIA 15 February, 1942 over Malta, while dive bombing Luga airfield, hit by British flak near Zurrieg. Two of the crew managed to escape the plunging ac by parachute, but only Obs Ofw Walter Hesse survived, to be captured by the British. Stadermann and R/O Ofw Albert Stahl were posted MIA. Gnr Uffz Martin Knoblach had been KilledInAction (KIA) prior to the crash. Wk# 4362 was hit by AA fire near Lichkovo, he and crew suffered minor injuries. Bomber & Night Fighter Operational Clasp w/Pendant		KilledInAction (KIA) 3 October, 1942, his He 111 shot down by Russian flak at Mesnik, near Leningrad. His crew bailed safely (Fw Willi Rieck & Fw Xaver Glonner), but Teiges parachute hung up on the tail and he was killed when the ac crashed. 300 combat missions; 2 Day and 9 Night victories. He was known as the originator of the Night Fighter element of II/KG-53, using the He 111. He received the RK for his 9 Night victories, and two days later, he downed two Soviet U-2s of 662 NBAP. He was the first RK recipient in II/KG-53. Oblt Teige was buried in the War Cem. at Sebesh, Russia, Blk 14, Row 11, Gr 1486 (burial source D.Drury).
