There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Remaining crew (KilledInAction (KIA)): Uffz Walter Arndt, R/O; Uffz Artur Wende, Mechanic and R/O & Mechanic Fw Reinhard Pfeifer. All the crew are buried at the War Cemetery at Wittstock (LOCS). His first known victory, a Soviet Il-2 on 1 July, 1944 (OKL Claims List). Another source suggests the loss occurred on 17 April, 1945.

Added: KIC in an emergency landing due to engine failure (CK). it First buried at Amsterdam, after the war, he was buried at the German War Cemetary at Ysselsteyn, in southern Holland. He is buried in Block "CT", Row 11, Grave 265. WIA 25 July, 1943; sd by enemy fire over Castricum - Velsen (North Sea Canal), the victim of WC J.Johnson, crashed on Noordermaatweg in Heemskerk, Holland. One known Soviet victory, an Il-2 on 26 October, 1942. An Il-2 near Narimorye on 8 December, 1942. A LaGG-3 on 6 January, 1943. A 4th Soviet, an Il-2 on 12 January, 1943. A 5th Soviet, an Il-2 on 14 January, 1943. One known western victory, a B-17 SW of Osterholz/Scharmbeck on 17 April, 1943. Another western victory, a B-24 on a Kiel raid on 14 May, 1943.

His 5th & 6th, both Spitfires southwest of Dunkirk, 2 June, 1940, while in 3/JG-27. Nos.7 & 8, both Morane 406s; one at Beauvais, the other 3 km SE of Froissy on 5 June, 1940. His 9th, a Bloch 131 at Lechelle on 13 June, 1940. Nos.10 & 11, both Spitfires W of Swanage on 20 July, 1940. His 15th, a Spitfire S of Eastbourne on 30 September, 1940. All victories in the West, including 46 in North Africa. Bowers/Lednicer, 63 victories. KilledInAction (KIA) 7 May, 1943 during aerial combat with a P-39 near Polarnyje Russia in his Bf 109G-2 Werk # 14802, when his parachute did not open due to insufficient altitude. He had just downed his 53rd victory and his AC suffered engine damage during the skirmish. 135 combat missions, all victories in the East. On 21 August, 1942, his AC, Bf 109F-4 Werk # 10161 suffered engine damage, he bailed out near Motewski Russia, his AC destroyed. MIA 5 September, 1942; listed as MIA after aerial combat, but returned 4 days later. Uninjured in his G-2 which crashed at Petsamo, damaged during aerial combat. (SIG Norway). Bowers/Lednicer, 53 victories. Added: KC awarded in recognition of his 53 aerial victories in the East, which were achieved in just 135 sorties.(CK)

An I-18 on 24 October, 1941. A DB-3 on 4 November, 1941. A LaGG-3 on 4 December, 1941. An I-61 on 17 December, 1941. A Pe-2 on 30 December, 1941. A Pe-2 on 21 March, 1942. A Pe-2 on 5 April, 1942. An Il-2 on 1 August, 1942. Two Pe-2s on 2 August, 1942. A Pe-2 W of Rzhev on 7 September, 1942. Two Pe-2s on 10 September, 1942. Three Il-2s on 30 October, 1942; one at Puschjanik, one at Kurino and one at Delogusovo. A MiG-3 and an Il-2 near Velikiye Luki on 17 December, 1942. An Il-2 and three Pe-2s on 6 January, 1943. His last known victory, his 46th, a Pe-2 on 3 February, 1943. Added: His remains have not been transferred to a military cemetery, but a grave is believed to exist at Velikiye Luki. Barely recovered, on 15 June, 1944, he was shot down by a P-51 in A-8 Wk# 730919 Brn 2", again severely wounded before he was able to bail out. All victories in the West. Added: His 1st, a Spitfire 15 km N of Berck-sur-Mer on 3 May, 1943. His 5th, a P-47 3 km S of Werkendam on 30 July, 1943. His 6th, a P-47 3 km N of Guyancourt on 3 September, 1943. His 10th, a B-24 B-24 10 km SE of Albert on 4 February, 1944. On 24 February, 1944, he shot down 2/Lt D.R.Rice, shortly after Rice had downed Uffz Gerhard Loschinski (KilledInAction (KIA)).His 18th victory, a P-47 SW of Reims on 27 April, 1944. His 20th, a P-47 10 km N of Soissons on 8 May, 1944. Hackl successor as Stafkpt 7/JG-26. Followed Hackl to JG-300 on 22 February, 1945. Won the RK in JG-300. Bowers/Lednicer, 36 victories. Survived the war, but was killed 8 January, 1957 in the crash of a training AC near Schongau.

A double victory on 3 June, 1944; two "4 mots", one at Mantes-Rambouillet, the other in the Dreux area. A Lancaster in the Albert area on 16 June, 1944. A "4 mot" at St Leu on 8 July, 1944. A "4 mot" at Vitry-le-Francois on 19 July, 1944. A Lancaster NW of Orleans on 25 July, 1944. A "4 mot" at Chaumont on 29 July, 1944. A "4 mot" at Le Harve-Lisieux on 7 August, 1944. Two "4 mots" at Ruhrgebeit on 21 November, 1944. At wars end, he became a British POW, releassed in February, 1946. Retired from the Austrian Air Force as an Oberst. Alternate spelling: Raüh. A P-40, a Yak-1 and a LaGG-3 on 30 November, 1942. A LaGG-5 and two Yak-1s on 5 August, 1943. Four LaGG-5s on 23 August, 1943. A Yak-9, a P-39 and two Yak-1s on 29 December, 1943. Another of many multiple victories for this high scorer! Shot down with severe wounds 31 May, 1944, exhausted after his sixth mission of the day. Flying his G-6, Wk# 163195 "Black 5", he lost his concentration, and was jumped by a Soviet P-39. His last victory was on 5 Jan., 1945. Injured in another crash on 25 April, 1945, when his Me 262 was shot down by a P-51. He carried the name "Christl", his wifes name on nearly all his AC. Barkhorns wingman was Fahnrich Graf Keller. His crew chief from 40 to 45, Cpl. Albert Kusterer. Shot down 9 times. In 1955, he joined the West German Luft. and became a General. Deceased 11 January, 1983; auto accident 6 January,1983, wife Christl killed instantly 6 January. Post war home: Tegernsee.

After transferring to the western front he went on to achieve 5 night victories as a single-engined night fighter, 2 B-17 bombers by day and 5 further night victories with conventional night-fighter units. MIA 13 July, 1943 after a forced landing behind enemy lines near Orel, Ksin, S.U. after combat with a Yak-1. He and his RO, Uffz Hans Wörl were seen exiting the G-2, but neither were repatriated years after the war. He may have been the victim of French Acr, Albert Littolf, his 14th and last victory. 400+ combat missions. His destroyer Group distinguished itself by its successful ground attacks during the Stalingrad Campaign. His 1st victory, a Hurricane of RAF No. 87 Sq., piloted by F/Sgt Frank Howell, 18 km south of Lüttich, 12 May, 1940, one of three Hurricanes this date. His 4th, a Spitfire I at Seclin, 5 km S of Lille on 16 May, 1940. Nos 5 & 6, both Potez 63s, one N of Albert-Meaulte, the other SW of Hirson, 19 May, 1940. His 10th, a Spitfire W of Dunkirk on 2 June, 1940. His 15th, a Spitfire 30 km N of Margate on 24 July, 1940. In December 1941, he was appointed Inspector of Day Fighters. He was also known to have flown 109E # 5398, 2804 and 4820. In JV-44, he flew Me 262A-1a White 3 in April, 1945; claiming 7 victories. Victories 100 & 101, both B-26s on 16 April, 1945, while serving in JV-44. His 102nd, a B-17 on 21 April, 1945. His last two victories, Nos. 103 & 104, both B-26s near Neuburg on 26 April, 1945. His Wk# 5367 was shot down by Halifax return fire the night of 24-25 June, 1943 over Abbenes Holland, (recovered in October, 1992 by a Dutch Restoration Team). He and R/O Uffz Willi Knappe bailed successfully, although wounded. Fw Pfeifer was injured in Wk# 5471, the night of 29/30 September, 1943 due to an engine fire crash at Tietjerk Holland, one other WIA and one KIC, both not named (Bf 110 Loss List). (DeSwart). Added: Crashed at 0417 on 10 September 1940. Remaining crew: Gefr Albert Nowak, Bomb (KilledInAction (KIA)) and Gefr Willi Hain, Gnr. Three of the four were killed. A fourth, the R/O, Uffz Kaffarnik, survived with wounds and returned to Fliegerhorst Eindhoven, 1km from the crashsite, a few hours after the crash (D.Drury). The three deceased are buried at Ysselsteyn, Block AA, Row 1: Lt Arnold Gr 20; Nowak Gr 21 and Hain Gr 22 (D.Drury). Added (src nimh.nl;: On the night of September 9 to 10, 1940, 11 He111 from II./KG 4, based at Eindoven airfield took part in a bombing raid on London. Arnold returned prematurely due to a technical defect. He most likely unloaded his bombs shortly before the deployed (emergency) landing, thinking he was flying above Notabwurfplatz Oirschot, but in reality he was above Eindhoven airport. The bombs fell in the SW corner of the airport at Liegeplatz 3. The pine forest caught fire and the bombs piled up here exploded. As a result, 8 Heinkel bombers from II/KG4 were lost in the sea of flames and 2 were severely damaged.
