There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

One known victory, his 1st, a P-47 at Roye-Noyon on 20 June, 1944. His 2nd, a B-17 (HSS) on 12 September, 1944, no location given. His 3rd, a P-51 in the Schwalmstadt area on 13 September, 1944. A 4th, a B-17 in the Marnfeld area on 2 November, 1944. He was shot down this same day in a G-14 over Halle, bailing safely. His 5th, same day, another B-17 at Eisleben. A 6th, a LaGG-3 on 3 March, 1945. Added: WIA on 02/11/44 and hospitalized in Halle (CKönig). Alternate spelling: Zwittning. Added: according to a letter of parents of Herbert Zimmermann Zwittnig was killed 3 days before wars end (05/05/45) east of Berlin (CKönig). His wife remarried after the war.

KilledInAction (KIA) 2 February, 1945 due to enemy fire, location not reported. Added: shot down by Soviet flak while flying a low attack of Soviet advancement roads near Landsberg at the Warthe river (CKönig). One known victory, his 1st, a P-47 at Diepholz on 8 December, 1944. His 2nd, a Lancaster at Bottrop-Recklinghausen on 12 December, 1944. Added: On 13/09/44 he flew on a mission with Fhj-Uffz Wilfried Schindler (KIA), Uffz Wolfram Horbach (KIA) Fw Johann Luthardt (KIA), Gefr Willi Stuber (KIA), Fhj-Uffz Herbert Zimmermann (KIA), Staffelführer was Oblt Ludwig Zwittnig (bailed out). Zipse managed to bail out uninjured though he was attacked on his chute by US fighters. He landed at the train station at Mecklar. According to a letter from the parents of Herbert Zimmermann Zipse was arrested by the Wehrmacht at first because he left the aircraft. He wrote twice to the parents after the air combat (CKönig).

Added: The two Remaining crew who were killed are: Ogefr Willi Hethke, Obs and Uffz Willi Lengeling. The unnamed, who was injured was Ogefr Herbert Strein, Gnr. The three deceased are buried in the War Cem. at Motta St. Anastasia, outside Catania. Per VDK, all buried in Gruft 4, Reihe 11, Platte 14, with Lt Zimmermann in Sarkophag 76; Ogefr Hethke in Sarkophag 64 and Uffz Lengeling in Sarkophag 81 (D.Drury).

Flew on his last mission with Fhj-Uffz Wilfried Schindler (KIA), Fw Johann Luthardt (KIA), Gefr Willi Stuber (KIA), Uffz Wolfram Horbach (KIA), Fhr Hans Zipse (bailed out), Staffelführer was Oblt Ludwig Zwittnig (bailed out). A letter from 1955 written by his parents states that he died due to the recklessness of his Staffelführer Zwittnig who urged his pilot to attack nevertheless - 60 US fighters scattered the Staffel and pursued them. The letter further mentioned that he tried to escape with Zipse and Schindler South while the other 4 planes flew North - all pursued by US fighters. His plane caught fire as a result of the enemy attack and went from 10.000m to 1.000m when the flames were extinguished. He tried to make an emergency landing behind a wooded mountain but 2 Salvos were shot him again, when a big part of the wing broke off and his 109 exploded in approx. 1000m height. The parents were first told he was MIA. His father made investigations are found the wooden cross and were told that Herberts remains were already buried 14 days earlier. Without his investigations they wouldnt have known the fate and burial site of their son (CKönig)

Injured in a crash with R/O Uffz Hans Joachim Hogrefe 12 June, 1943; crashed into the sea near Pantelleria due to engine failure. The two remaining crew, Ofw Franz Müller, Obs and Fw Herbert Ebert, Gnr., went (MIA). 212 combat missions. Deceased 29 July, 2008, Munich (Kaiser RK book). Added: Knights Cross Awarded for his successes on the Eastern front, where he and his crew destroyed 3 munitions, 3 goods and 2 fuel trains, 110 trucks, 5 tanks and 6 aircraft (on the ground). Moreover for leading the III./KG 54 in missions against the Allied landings in southern Italy. Over the course of these operations the Gruppe destroyed 35 landing craft and 14 ships totalling 70,000 GRT (of which Zauner personally sank 2) (CKönig)

One known victory, a Blenheim 25 km northwest of Ameland Island on 2 June, 1941. A 2nd, another Blenheim 25 km NE of Ameland on 7 June, 1941. On 14 December, 1941, with Fw Herbert Rost, he aborted a takeoff due to drifting snow and Rost was killed in the takeoff attempt. His first known Soviet victory, an SB-2 on 18 January, 1942. KilledInAction (KIA) 22 July, 1941 with his R/O, Uffz Herbert Indenbirken (EK 1+EK 2, born 29/05/1921in Privitsheide, bur Cannock Chase, Blk 5, Gr 231) colliding with a Wellington (R1334) of No. 11 OTU at Ashwell/Herfordshire (Boiten). One known victory, his 1st, a Hampden of No.49 Sq. at Gravesend, east of Skegness, the night of 27-28 October, 1940. His 2nd, a Blenheim on the night of 22-23 December, 1940, 50 km E of Aldeburgh. His 3rd, a Wellington near the Marham airfield near Kingley/West Raynham, 4 April, 1941. His 4th, a Hampden at Finningley, 16-17 April, 1941. On 25 April, 1941, he scored his 5th, 6th, & 7th victories, 3 Blenheims at Lindholme. His Gunner, Fw Biehne, was credited with a Blenheim also, this same night. His 9th victory, a Wellington SW of Cambridge on 22 July, 1941. Added: Lt Völker buried Cannock Chase, Blk 5, Gr 232. Another known crewman, Fw Andreas Würstl (EK 1+EK 2, born 20/03/1914 in Marktdretwitz/ Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge (CK), buried CC, Blk 5, Gr 230 (Luftwaffe Graves UK).

On 12/06/41 Ursinius was on transit flight of new aircraft for 2.(H)/ Aufkl.Gr. 14 from Lippstadt via Leipheim and Africa. Flew Fw-58 and Bf-110 with Radop Walter Stolz (05/05/20-10/07/96) among others in II./Zerstörerschule 1 (02-04/41). Günther Ursinus father was Carl Oskar Ursinus, a German aviation pioneer. Nicknamed “Röhnvater” as the founder of the first gliding club at the Wasserkuppe/Röhn in 1920. Crew on 09/12/41: Oblt Herbert Lüderssen (MIA, born in Osterode), Uffz Karl-Heinz Schulze (MIA, born in Krossen/Luckau).

Emergency landing on 14 May, 1940 during aerial combat with a Hurricane, crashing at Sedan, no mention of injuries (Prien). His first two victories, both Hurricanes at Portland on 25 August, 1940. His 3rd, a Hurricane in the London area on 9 September, 1940.
