His 4th, a Blenheim in the Stavanger area on 20 October, 1940. His 5th, a Hurricane at Belgrad on 6 April, 1941. A Lysander, said to be his 6th victory, on 15 April, 1941 at Larissa. | ||

Three of the crew , including the pilot bailed safely, the R/O was killed. Remaining crew: Fw Karl Vogelhauer (or Vogelhuber), Obs (bail); Uffz Günter Ferth, R/O (KilledInAction (KIA)) and Ogefr Helmuth Pieper, Gnr (bail). Injured when his Ju 88C-6 crashed on landing at the Deelen Holland airfield on 21/22 January, 1944, cause unknown (DeSwart). One known victory, a B-17 NE of Mergentheim on 14 October, 1943. A 2nd, a Halifax 2 km S of Harzburg on 22 October, 1943. His victories may be as high as 4 (Boiten). Deceased 27 September, 1995. Added: Hptm Jacob was injured in the 22 January crash at Deelen. His Gnr, StFw Karl Weinschenk survived with wounds. R/O, Ofw Helmut Rietscher (geb 31/12/17 in Kamenz), was killed, and buried Ysselsteyn, BM-4-82 (Find-A-Grave by Fred).
