Nos 6, 7 & 8, an Il-2 and two Yak-9s on 5 June, 1944. A 9th, a P-39 on 8 June, 1944. Added: His attackers were P-38's. VDK entry indicates his remains not yet transferred to a military cemetery, but it is understood to exist, a grave at Buzau, Romania (D.Drury). |
