There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Büttner was uninjured, but the other three crewmen were injured, the gunner dying of his injuries. Remaining crew: Ofw Heinz Tiemann, Observer; Uffz Anton Ehm, R/O and Fw Arthur Balke, Gunner (DOW). Bomber Operational Clasp		MIA 3 May, 1942 after being attacked by two I-16s of 630 IAP while he was attacking the Soblago rail line. With both engines smoking from RS-82 rocket damage, he and R/O Uffz Anton Hagel made a force landing in a field near Yamishche, 10 miles NW of Andreapol. The two disappeared into a forest, and are still missing to this day.

A total of seven Luftwaffe refugees had planned this defection from their base in Latvia, 54 km ENE of Libau, one carrying three persons, the other carrying four. Seidel is believed to be the pilot although not positively identified by the author. The three passengers, most likely pilots also; Ofw Richard Seidel, Ofw Anton Hausner and Uffz Harry Klinfke. His Wk# 161587 was hit by flak during a low-level attack 130km behind Russian lines. With one engine out Herkner nursed his battered ac back to German lines, where he made a force landing. Remaining crew: Uffz Richard Heyder, Obs (KilledInAction (KIA)); Uffz Anton Knapp, R/O (injured in landing); Fw Max Lindl, Flt Engr (injured) and Uffz Philipp Berghofer, Gnr (injured).
