There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Veith bailed safely. His P-4 was sd by AA fire south of Kholoyov behind Soviet lines; all uninjured and made their way back to German lines. Remaining crew: Lt Eitel Barth, Pilot & RK Holder; Fw Gerhard Weidemann, R/O; Fw Martin Wallrabenstein, Flt Engr and Uffz Ernst Mantel, Gnr.. An Observer, and pilot (07/44) in 9./KG 4, he ended the war with 420 combat missions, including the destruction of 27 locomotives, 24 AC on the ground and 16 tanks. Deceased Memmingen, abt 1972 (Grandson, Marcus Brown 8/2025).

POW (briefly) 14 May, 1940 after his He 111 was sd by four Morane-Saulnier MS 406 fighters of GC III/6, and came down at Fougerolles. Remaining crew: Uffz Gerhard Schildt (KilledInAction (KIA)); Uffz H.Kazmierowski (POW/WIA); Ofw H.Matt (POW) and Gefr F.Backhaus (POW). The surviving crew were released from captivity following the fall of France. Uffz Schildt is buried at Andilly, Blk 11, Row 8, Gr 594 (D.Drury). Barth replaced Obstlt von Hallensleben as Kdr KG-51. His 2nd victory, confirmed as his 1st, a P-38 40 km northwest of Marettimo on 6 May, 1943. His 2nd confirmed victory, a P-40 on 8 May, 1943. His 3rd (or 4th) victory (also unlisted), in the Sicilian campaign, a P-39 Aircobra 30 km northeast of Pantellaria on 13 June, 1943. His 3rd (or 5th), a P-38F 6 km southeast of Sciacca on 15 June, 1943. Magnus carries all 5 victories as confirmed.

Night Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 16/17 January, 1945, crashing after aerial combat with a Mosquito of RAF No. 157 Sq., piloted by F/Lt A McKinnon by Lüneburg (Boiten). His Mechanic, Uffz Kurt Barth was injured in the crash. One known victory, a "4 mot" at Vendome on 1 July, 1944. A 2nd, a "2 mot" (B-26 most likely) at Amiens on 8 July, 1944. A 3rd, a "4 mot" 25 km NW of Vechta on 13 August, 1944. His Ju 88G-1 was shot down w/o injuries near Frankfurt the night of 25/26 August, 1944. Remaining crew: Uffz Josef Scholten, R/O (WIA) and Uffz Fritz Wendland, Gunner.

Observer Operational Clasp		KIC 8 January, 1944 at Venlo airfield due to blocking of flying controls after takeoff (Boiten). His Wk# 581 crashed at the Venlo Holland airfield. One known victory, a B-17 20 km SW of Schweinfurt on 14 October, 1943. Added: His two remaining victories are erroneously recorded to a Lt Würtz. Therefore, he is credited with a Lancaster DS817 of RAF No.514 Sq. over Berndroth, near Frankfurt, shared with Hptm Wilhelm Herget. The 2nd, another Lancaster LL630 of RCAF No.426 Sq. over Güls (or Kühl), near Koblenz, both on 20 December, 1943. He is buried in Barth Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof, Blk 3, Row 3, Gr 1 (D.Drury). Alternate spelling: Wurtz & Würtz.
