Having completed a circuit of the northern part of the island, while firing clusters of red flares, it then headed back to Exbury where it was engaged by Flak batteries of all calibers, then intercepted by a section of Typhoon aircraft of No. 266 Sq. Due to 7 men on board (!) it might have been a defection attempt or rather becoming lost while changing base location as suggested above.
