There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

One source implies that Fw Andreaus was being towed by Fw Karl Weber (when they crashed?).

Major Emil Badorrek (6 May 1910 - 26 December 1944) had participated in World War II from the invasion of Poland to Russia as a scout pilot using the Junkers Ju 88 aircraft. In September 1943 his plane was converted to Junkers Ju 188. He was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes # 947 dated 22 November 1943 as Hauptmann and Staffelkapitän 4. (Fern) Staffel / Aufklärungsgruppe 11 / Stab Fernaufklärungsgruppe 2 / Luftflotte 6, and Eichenlaub zum Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes # 652 dated 18 November 1944 as Major and Staffelkapitän 4. ( Fern) Staffel / Aufklärungsgruppe 11 / Stab Fernaufklärungsgruppe 2 / Luftflotte 6. These prestigious medals were received for their extraordinary dedication as scout pilots who always displayed courage in any difficult situation so they were able to carry out their duties well and bring valuable enemy position reports. Not only that, he also added a record of his achievements by destroying a number of vehicles and the position of land defense using his aircraft. The Junkers Ju 188D-2 "T5 + LK" (Werknummer 150492) which he piloted was shot down along with his crew (Leutnant Josef Reinardy, Oberfeldwebel Gerhard Siller and Oberfeldwebel Franz Felician) at 12:54 a.m. above Tomaszowice near Krakow (Poland) at the end in 1944. No one survived the incident. During his career Badorrek was noted to have participated in 580 combat missions.

Fahnenjunker-Oberfeldwebel Josef Baldes (September 6, 1915 - July 30, 1985), who was born and died in Differten / Kreis Saarlouis (Germany), was a aufklärerflieger pilot of Aufklärungsgruppe 124 recommended by his unit to get the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes in early April 1945 The proposal was processed by Oberkommando der Luftwaffe / Auszeichnung und Discipline (OKL / AuD) on April 16, 1945. Approved, the recommendation was then forwarded as Luftwaffenpersonalamt-Verleihungsvorschlag (LPA-VV) Nr. 1577 to Reichsmarschall's aide Hermann Göring for approval. Unfortunately, the recommendation was never resolved and the war ended on May 8, 1945. Therefore, the award ceremony could not be verified even though Walther-Peer Feldgiebel officially stated in his book that Baldes was awarded the Ritterkreuz on May 9, 1945 as Fahnenjunker-Oberfeldwebel and Flugzeugführer at 1. (Fern) Staffel / Aufklärungsgruppe 124 / Kommandierender General der Deutschen Luftwaffe in Norwegen. Other medals and awards he received: Eisernes Kreuz II.Klasse; Eisernes Kreuz I.Klasse; Luftwaffe Ehrenpokale für Besondere Leistungen im Luftkrieg (April 12, 1943); and Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (August 16, 1943). During his war career the Baldes completed 281 combat missions, and he was listed as the last aufklärerflieger to be awarded the Ritterkreuz!

29 Bartel, KurtOfwStab II/KGzbV-1Ju 52/3m "1Z + BC"Transport Operational ClaspOne of three Ju 52s making emergency landings in Sweden on 14 April, 1940 due to navigational errors and running low on fuel. This one landed on the weak ice of Lake Vänern at Mariestad at 2247 hours. The crew attempted to taxi to shore, but fell through the thin ice and settled to the bottom. This occurred during exercise Weserübung after dropping paratroopers. They were a crew of five, however, only four are known. Remaining crew: Ofw Josef Becker, Fw Ernst Rethmeier and Uffz Werner Röhr. Note: the pilots were not positively identified by the author. I selected the two senior ranking persons as pilots. On 07 September 1940 at 03:15 minutes a Heinkel He 111 H-3 of 6./KG 26 crashed near Küstelberg in Sauerland. Küstelberg is today part of 59964 Medebach. The crew: Uffz Karl-Heinz Bartels, pilot, b. 18.06.1917 in Hamburg

The crew of Ueberson/Bartnik flew numerous missions over Northern England between 1942-1943, becoming the longest surviving crew in their unit by March, 1943. They were removed from operations and served in instructional capacities (Jager Blatt & LOCS).

It was their first daylight sortie. All victories at night. He is known to have crashed a Bf 110 at Meddo Holland, NNW of Winterswijk, on 30 August, 1940, cause and crew disposition unknown, a Lt at the time (DeSwart). His first known victory, a Wellington the night of 16-17 October, 1940, no location. He is credited with the 1st radar-controlled victory, and this may have been the AC, downed while in 4/NJG-1. A Wellington near Nieue Schans on 8-9 August, 1941. A Manchester by Shlochteren, E of Groningen the night of 12-13 August, 1941. A Whitley V by Vredepeel the night of 14-15 August, 1941. Another double victory, both DB-3s on 9 July, 1941. A triple victory on 2 December, 1941; two Pe-2s and an I-18. A MiG-3 SE of Schalsk on 26 March, 1942. A triple on 28 May, 1942; two MiG-1s and a U-2, while in Stab IV/JG-51. Four Il-2s on 1 August, 1942. Two LaGG-3s and a DB-3 in the Krestzsky area on 4 October, 1942. His last two victories, both MiG-3s on 8 November, 1942, just one day before becoming a POW. Another source says he scored three victories on 9 November, 1942. Released from captivity mid-December, 1949. Deceased 13 December, 2004. Ar 232 A-101

The first and only unit fully equipped with Ar 232 was the 7./Erg.TG. (Supplementary transport squadron). Their formation, in Schönwalde near Berlin, was apparently ordered as early as June 1943, probably on the 15th. The first squadron commander, Walter Meltzer (Knights Cross) from III./TG 1, had been appointed, but together with the group commander the l./Erg.TG., Major Kurt Wendorff, in a test flight with the Ar 232 A-03, VD + YC, he was fatally injured in Schönwalde along with Oblt. Helmut Jardon, Offz.z.b.V., Ofw. Albert Klenk, Bordmechaniker, and Uffz. Heinrich Gräf, Bordfunker, all of the 7./Erg.TG. Meltzer's successor was Major Josef Belz. While he and a few other members of the squadron, including Ofw. Max Limbrecht, had already been instructed in the new pattern at the factory, it was not until December 1943 that the A-02 aircraft in Schönwalde could be deployed. That same month, the squadron was relocated to Eger. There it received three more machines in January (A-06, A-09 and B-06) and another two in February 1944. The last two should have been at least one more B, most likely the B-05.

Initially trained as a bomber observer and assigned to I./KG 153 at Merseburg. Observer with 4./KG 2 in 1939. Flew in Poland campaign, destroying three trains. In France campaign his crew shot down two Morane 406 fighters and took part in low-level strikes. On an early mission over England, 1940-07-11 his Dornier 17 was shot up by Hurricanes near Harwich. Bornschein, radio operator Ofw. Werner Borner and flight engineer Fw. Friedrich Lohrer were all wounded. The bomber’s pilot, Joachim Genzow, who later won the Knight’s Cross, escaped injury. After recovering from his wounds, Bornschein was sent to Flight Training School A/B 3 at Guben, where he trained as a pilot. Promoted to Oberleutnant in November 1940. Late 1941 he returned to 4./KG 2 on Dornier 217 E. Bornschein attacked industrial targets, port facilities and shipping, sinking two merchant ships totaling 9,000 tons. Led 4./KG 2 as Staffelkapitän from June 1942 to February1943. Promoted to Hauptmann. In early 1943 Bornschein assigned to Flight Training School A/B 3 as a company commander. May 1943 he was transferred to the Führer-Kurierstaffel as Staffelkapitän. In April 1944 the unit was based in southern Germany, as nighfighters. On the night of 26-27 April 1944 Bornschein intercepted British bombers attacking Schweinfurt. he shot down a Lancaster III of 106 Sq., ND853 "ZN-J", 15km WSW of Schweinfurt, but was then shot down himself. Bornschein was killed, along with his radio operator Stbfw. Wilhelm Steurer (who had been a member of Bornschein’s crew in KG 2) and flight engineer Fw. Josef Schmitz, hit by return fire from the Lancaster. He shot down at least 3 enemy aircraft.

WIA 13 May, 1940 in his E-3 in aerial combat with a Defiant, crashing 2e Dwarsweg, at Numansdorp, near Dordrecht. 4 bombers. One known victory, a B-17 on 4 April, 1943, of the 305BG, 366BS flown by Lt Harold P. Neill. Two were killed, the rest were POWs. Shot down 14 May, 1943, in Fw 190A-5 Werk # 7326 "Black 19"; he was fortunate to survive bailing out when his chute failed to open properly. Another victory, a B-17 # 42-30389 "Dear Mom" of 94BG, 331BS, crashing at Lummen, Be. with the loss of six crew. His 30th, a Spitfire E of Furnes on 19 September, 1943. A P-51 at Recklinhausen on 23 September, 1944. All victories in the West. His first victory, a Hurricane northwest of Dunkirk, 1 June, 1940. His 2nd, a Spitfire at Dunkirk on 2 June, 1940. Nos.3 & 4, both Hurricanes at Maidstone on 13 August, 1940. His 5th, a Hurricane 30 km NW of Folkestone on 6 September, 1940. His 43rd, and last victory, a Spitfire at Ibbenbüren on 14 January, 1945. One of very few Pre-war pilots to survive the war! Borris was the only pilot to serve in JG-26 from 1939 to VE day in 1945. Flew Fw 190D-9s in 1945. Deceased 18 August, 1981.

Takeoff accident at Svartnes on 16 May, 1944 in "Black 4", pilot disposition unknown (Source: SIG Norway). Note: in JG-5, the Black AC numbering was customarily used on #2, #5, #8 and #11 Staffels. He either borrowed another Staffels AC, or the "Black 4" is reported incorrectly. His OKL claims identify his as a member of 9/JG-5. His first known victory, a Soviet Il-2 on 7 April, 1944. A 2nd & 3rd, a Boston III and a P-40 on 23 April, 1944. A 4th, a P-40 NE of Kirkenes on 22 July, 1944. A 5th, an Il-2 on 7 September, 1944. Deceased 10 April, 1999.

WIA 25 February, 1945; while preparing to takeoff from his airfield at Nordhorn/Rheine, he was strafed by a Spitfire XIV of RAF No. 41 Sq.. He taxied into a revetment, dived from his "White 17", and was shot in the arm.
