| KilledInAction (KIA) the night of 25/26 April, 1942; while intruding over British Night Fighter airfields in the Bath area, the crew became lost and was claimed damaged at 22:45 hours by Cardiff AA site 112 HAA Regt.. The crew then flew up the Wye Valley before being shot down by F/O Wyrill and Sgt Willins in Beaufighter X7933 of RAF No.255 Sq.. The AC crashed at Lan-Haylo Farm, Gwaunceste Hill, Builth Wells, Brecon at 23:50 hours. Remaining crew: Ofw Walter Kreinenbrock, Observer (POW); Gefr Paul Kochon, R/O (POW) and Fw Adolf Liedig, Mech (KilledInAction (KIA)). Brixius and Liedig were originally buried in Glascum Church Cemetery, and later moved to the German Military Cemetery at Cannock Chase. Source: Bristol Past, John Penny. A 5th, a "4 mot" in the Königsberg area on 30 August, 1944. A 6th, a Stirling on 2 December, 1944, no location. He flew his Ju 88 from Grove Denmark to Gormanston Ireland on 5 May, 1945 with two other crewmen, Uffz Horst Walter Schmidt and Ogefr Bernhard Kruschyna. The crew were interned and the AC was turned over to the RAF, namely the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, flown by Capt Eric Melrose Brown. The RAF serial # became VK888. He and his crew were captured, and later released, 10 May, 1940, after their ac was damaged by a MS406 fighter of GC I/2, piloted by Capt Pierre Rene Hyvernault. They were then forced down by Bloch 152 fighters of GC I/8, making a belly landing at Velaine-en-Haye military airfield.
