Searching here is powerful. Check the Search Tips first. You can search on single items (a surname for example, or a country) and you can search on combinations: thus a search on 'Australia and Camel' will find all records where BOTH Australia and Camel are mentioned.

You can only search on 3 characters or more, thus SE will fail as it has less than 3 characters. Also, certain characters cannot be used, the hyphen is one such character. A search on SE-5 will fail because the hyphen is ignored. In this case, search on SE5.

Be aware we have used dozens of different sources. Some use special characters (such as umluats on German), others use Anglicized versions of the word. Thus some use Göring, and some use Goering. Try different approaches.

Read Search Tips.
For security reasons, our host server software does not permit searching to occur on several programmer-centric words. Unfortunately these include 3 words which can also occur as names. To overcome this problem, Search for Downe to find all entries for Down. Search for Elsee to find entries for Else. Search for Littlee to find entries for Little. A fuller explanation is provided in Search Tips.
