There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Injured in a takeoff accident at Gossen on 16 February, 1945. He spent the remainder of the war in a hospital (Source: SIG Norway & F. Braun & R. Kull). Ecke and wingman Ogefr Hans Günther Heep were flying from Kirkenes to Banak in Norway on 15 November, 1944, when a combination of bad weather, engine trouble and a malfunction of the radio equipment prevented them from continuing their flight as they were about out of fuel. Both bailed successfully, Ecke landing near Kutjaure and Heep at Stordalen. They were reunited on 23 December, 1944. They met again in Norway in early 1945 (source: B.Widfeldt & F. Braun and R. (Added by Pietrzak Youngs)
Drafted into the Luftwaffe Reconnaissance Pilot School in Hildesheim on November 26th, 1939. He got married prior, on October 12, 1935, to his wife Irmgard Eckebrecht. He received his pilot’s license on May 15, 1940, and received further training in Gas Protection in Paris in February 1941, Eckebrecht was promoted from Leutnant to Oberleutnant on November 1, 1942. He was heavily decorated for his service in the Luftwaffe, having received the German Cross in Gold on April 17, 1943, the Reconnaissance Operational Clasp in Gold on February 14, 1944, as well as the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on November 9th, 1944. He received multiple injuries from enemy fire to his right hand (between the second and third finger) and to his left thigh on June 22, 1942, and spent time in the field hospital in Simferopol between June 22 and June 30th, 1942. He was moved to a hospital in Tempelhof, where he stayed from July 3, 1942 until September 30, 1942. It is likely that he was released from service following his release from the hospital. However, but from this record it is clear that, before his release, he flew multiple missions in Belgium, France, reconnaissance flights and emergency rescue flights, aerial protection flights of mine clearing boats, as well as select missions on the eastern front.
