* NOTE ON DATES: IMPORTANT: For consistency, the Date is given as the date the mission TOOK OFF since the precise time of a loss is not always certain. Take Off date is unambigous and fixed in the official records, but obviously in those cases where the incident occurred before midnight UK time, then the Take Off Date will be the same as the Incident Date. Of course, most Bomber Command missions flew through midnight, therefore a Luftwaffe claim against a plane - or a locally generated crash report - may record the incident as occurring on the day following our Take Off Date. Bear this in mind when cross-referencing to our Luftwaffe Victories by Name/Date Database and other Luftwaffe sources. In some cases other sources may quote the date following our date, using locally generated reports as their source. To add to the potential for confusion, remember to take into account a Luftwaffe recorded date will be in local time, 1 hour ahead of UK time. When we discover a validated Incident Date we change our record if necessary

Son of Gerald Poynings Dasent and Ellen Elizabeth Dasent (née Wilson), Aorangi, Mangatahi. 897 flying hours logged with 220 on the Spitfire. Completed 71 operational sorties.

New Zealand territorial army for 18 months, A member of the New Plymouth Aero Club where he had completed 109 flying hours. Enlisted at Levin on the 30th November 1940 as a pilot under training. With No. 2 Elementary Flying Training School on th 19th January 1941.

Embarked for Canada on the 27th March 1941. With No. 6 Service Flying Training School 21st April 1941. Pilot badge gained on the 03rd July 1941 and promoted to sergeant. Embarked for England on the 21st July 1941. With No. 3 Personnel Reception Centre on the 16th August 1941. Further training with No. 61 Operational Training Unit 21st August 1941. Joined 616 squadron on the 06th October 1941. Carried 26 operational sorties. At Wittering from the 10th February - 15th March 1942.

Son of Stanley George Davidson (died 23rd July 1966, age 82) and of Mabel Adelaide Davidson (nêe Burgess - died 24th July 1961, age 81), of Opaku, Taranaki, New Zealand and husband of Joan Katherine Mabel Davidson (née Hunter - later Austin - died 25th June 2010, age 93) and father of 1 son, of Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.

Born on the 19th September 1922 at Hastings. Served in the 12 Field Regiment of the NZ Army for 8 months prior to enlisting at Masterton on the 01st August 1942. Initial training at No. 3 Elementary Flying Training Schooljoining them on the 01st April 1943. then on to No. 2 Service Flying School on the 29th May 1943. Pilots badge awarded on the 02nd August 1943 and commissioned on the 25th September 1943. After serving with various units joined 17 squadron on the 27th November 1944. Moved to the South Pacific area on the 31st December 1944. A total of 700 flying hours logged, nu details on number of operational sorties carried out.

Son of Harold George (died 30th January 1976, age 87), and of Olive Annie Davies (nee Giles - died 27th April 1971, age 82), of Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand and husband of Josephine Vera Davies (nee Faulkner), of Hastings.

Born on the 18th August 1920 at Riverton. Worked as a telegraphist operator for F and T Department at Awarus radio Station before service. Enlisted on the 22nd December 1940 at Levin. Embarked for Canada on the 29th April 1941. Awarded pilot badge and promoted to sergeant on the 08th August 1941 - commissioned on the 09th August. Embarked for England on the 15th August 1941.

Further training with 21 Operational Training Unit before flying a Wellington to Egypt via Gibraltar and Malta on the 12th February 1942. Son of Charles Dupree De Clifford (/died 19th June 1938) and Mary Somerville De Clifford (née Brown - died 16th April 1954). of Palmerston Street, Riverton, New Zealand. A total of 392 flying hours logged and on his 14th operational sortie.

His brother 27 year old, Trevor Ledestin De Clifford 7456 was killed the previous year. Killed on the 02nd June 1941 on the island of Crete whilst serving as a driver for New Zealand Army Service Corps, Supply Company. Buried at the Suda Bay War Cemetery. Grave 6.C.11.

With No. 12 Service Flying Training School on the 11th October 1941 flying the Crane. A total of 122 flying hours logged with 59 solo and 36 on the Crane.
